  • Cutting shoes for cleats, reversible?

My GF is currently touring on ancient MKS platforms and half clips recycled from my grandad’s old Raleigh tourer. They’ve seen better days and I’m keen to encourage her to get into using SPD’s as I have a few sets spare. She has Specialized Big Tahoe’s which currently aren’t cut to accept a cleat. If I cut them and instal a cleat, but she doesn’t get on with SPD’s, is it possible to reattach the bit of the sole that I’ve cut out in any way?

I fidn the cutout bits eventually detach themselves even with out cuttign so you end up having to glue them back on. Use Evo-Stick contact adhesive – it’s pretty secure and felxible but not permanent.

I assumed some kind of glue would do the trick! Just wondered what people had found effective.
    Cheers!
