    Use an old lock on grip as a cutting guide.

    And remember if trimming 2in of a handlebar, to take 1in off each side.

    either will work. whatever you choose make sure it’s a nice sharp blade/ wheel

    It’s down to your preference/ shoulder-width / comfort but mainly preference.

    (soz for cutting in Brant and pardon the pun)

    Also use a pipe cutter – I got one from Screwfix for about £3 with a spare-cutting wheel.

    going for the pipe cutter approach, hacksaw goes on the wonk and dont get me started on an angle grinder after today’s artistry with my cleats.

    just in case…don’t use a pipe cutter on carbon ones!

    oh and before you cut move your grips and controls inboard to try it.
