Seriously considering getting the XC9. Anybody else riding one?

How tall are you and what size did you go for?

    Pics would be nice

I considered it too. But they never returned my emails.

    Oh really how awful !

And yet they have a whole plethora of other ways to contact them

I’ve not has any problems contacting them. They returned my emails and I’ve spoken with Gary who seemed a nice chap. I’m pretty much decided on size just got to decide which dropouts and colour.

Candodavid has probably the first one made. Do a search.

Plethora? Name 3 more than phone.

If you are encouraged to make contact by email and the system in place means you don’t get a reply, why stick around in order to shell over your hard earned when there are a plethora of other options available?

Maybe because you want to buy one ?
And it’s one guy in a workshop ?

Tried to enquire about a bike a few years ago. Sent two emails, neither was answered.

Nonk I think any negativity is justified if they can’t answer emails.

    Bloody lovely it is too.

I guess if they were short of business they’d be checking emails, rather than fulfilling existing orders.

Not denying that they are smart looking frames. I love the raw finish too.

I have an xc9. Custom geo based on a whyte 29c with short st, long etc and slacker ha. 1 and 1/8 ht, 27.2mm seatpost with standard seat collar. As you can see you can have what you want.

Lovely to ride. Great to deal with.

I always picked up the phone. A brazer from the 1960s and a BMX rider from the 90s have skills other than email and that’s fine by me.

I can never quite work out if these are the same people/person who used to make yellow BMX bikes BITD?

I have a SuperX, it is a lovely frame. If I was in the market for a steel hardtail I would get a Curtis.

Built up a Curtis Super X with Stormtrooper Jnr based around an XS frame from eBay and mainly spare parts – he loves it 😀

If it’s custom, why do you have so many headset spacers?
    Serious question.

I slightly screwed up. Was really concerned not to have a top tube that was fouled by the bars/shifters when crashing. Didn’t take account of exposed steerer. Could reduce a tad by flipping stem now I’ve spent a couple of years getting the position.

If I were doing it again I’d increase the gap between the TT and DT slightly and also make it stand a little higher/lower. FWIW I’m not a fan of enormous HT but would have preferred this be 1.5″ longer. Live and learn.
