Yes, but not in Shoreditch! 😉

Does it have to be there?

Not far from Shoreditch, Tayabbs in Whitechapel.

It’s byo, and you have to queue to get in, but it’s the best Indian Nosebag in the capital.

No – we’re in West End but were just planning in heading there

I’d recommend Tayabbs too. I’ve only tried 1 other place in East London (which was shite) and whilst it’s not the best Indian meal I’ve ever had* it’s certainly good, and cheap too.

    * That honour is a close call between Mother India’s Cafe in Glasgow, or The Surrey Palace in West Ewell.

Tayyabs for sure. Have the chops. I’m also a big fan of the Spice Village in Tooting, proper Pakistani food done well.

+1 Tayyabs. Been bloody busy for years too.

or The Surrey Palace in West Ewell.

Was that recently? I’m always on the look out for top curry houses (within 10 miles or so) and haven’t heard of that one.

Yeah I was last there in October. It’s a fairly unassuming place and probably doesn’t have anything particularly unique about it, but I’ve certainly travelled to it many times whilst living in Surbiton & Wimbledon. The vegetable pakora is my particular favourite part.

You can book Tayabbs. But you’re still queuing! Never for very long mind…

The menu is quite small and you don’t get the uk classic Indian dishes. If there’s a few of you going, just ask for a bit of everything!
