Wasn’t it yesterday? Isn’t today the preparation for the other bit that I can’t pronounce, their new year. I wished my chum up the paper shop happy diwali yesterday (he had his caste mark on). It’s a happy festival of light victory over dark, a bit early over here, ours takes place around Dec 21st and Christians jumped on it to promote the birth of their prophet.

Nothing to stop you celebrating with them, they certainly don’t mind, Hinduism is a very broad church which is more than can be said for a certain other religion, they just haven’t commercialised it to the extend the Judaeo Capitalists have ours, happy holidays…

After all the misery caused by the Catholic church over the centuries I would quite happily burn an effigy of the Pope. Contraception, hording wealth and child abuse denial are three very obvious reasons to not be a fan of Roman Catholics. Hardly contraversial as I explained to a very observant Catholic friend a few weeks ago. Even she had to admit to the second and third points.

I don’t think “child abuse denial” is part of the Roman Catholic Doctrine.

In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s not. So scratch that from your list.

All religions have issues – simplest to avoid it all and create your own. I like trail gremlins myself…
