I’m going to give up soon.

I take it you have been using lots of fairy liquid…….I rsorted to soaking my 2.4 Nobby nics in a bucket of really hot water first before soaping and making sure that the tubeless valve wasn’t interfering with the beads as I popped them over the rim…..one tyre still needed some levers for persuasion though.

If they’re anything like putting them on 650b flow ex’s then you really do need to make sure the tyre sits in the middle of the rim. Took me a loooong time at first, watched this video again to remind me how to fit tight tyres.

I’ve heard they just about go on flows.

Curious if anyone’s managed on an sx rim though.

Bead couldn’t be more in the middle of the rim if I tried.

I run SG dampfs on STs, and yes, when the tyre is new, and comlpetely “Unstretched” they are indeed a pita! (As the narrow rim doesn’t allow a lot of space for the opposite side bead to drop into to release enough slack to get the far side up and over the lip.

What worked for me, was leaving the tyre halfway on, jammed nice and tight with some tyre leavers stetching it, overnight. Next day, with a bit of lube, it slipped straight on!

(and, after they had been on the bike, they seem to be a lot easier to remove/fit)

So how did you do it in the end?

    From that video

I’m going to start at the valve, it doesn’t matter where you start

It does if you’re trying to get all of the bead into the well 🙄

Only better thing is when you feel the tyre inflating and holding air. Which it did.

Just gotta get some sealant in there now.

There was a timely tip on here the other day about using a spare Reverb syringe.

    🙂
