My xt crank arm has come off damaging the threads, it’s back on but it probably won’t last long.
Anything else worth considering similar priced dive or take as the shimano xt?
I’ll be using it with 1×10 gearing so chain rings not required.
Crc £95 with bb plus for the xt plus £40 for a narrow wide ring.
The new hope cranks look ace but at £245 Too far out of budget.

That’s a good price. I am hoping for a set from a different manufacturer, but the slx maybe too good to refuse. I’ve not used ribble before.

Proprietary bb though. Not cheap, and not brilliant.

slx are <5g heavier than xt and they wear better, vfm wise they are pretty unbeatable

turbines look nice, 25g heavier if that matters

That’s a pretty good price for the X1 cranks, especially as that includes the N/W chainring.

that x1 seems a bit porky if its 800g without a bb

    1x slx is 650g

    Could you buy an Aerozine?

And then report back? I like the look of it but need to know if it’s any good.
    Thanks.

@kimbers – I wasn’t sure about that either, but according to BikeRumour the cranks with chainring and bolts weigh 683, with the BB somewhere around 108g.

    Bikerumour

I’ve just got a new set of XT cranks and without chainring, bolts or BB, they came in at 590g, so probably very slighty lighter, but not by much.

Slx. Great price, last well and nice easy attachment system.
Plus standard bb not silly gxp.

XT are my go to cranks, zero issues, guessing SLX are not much different. Out of interest does anybody know the real world weight of the Saint m820 cranks compared to XT/SLX?
