I’m aware of this thread http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/groups-riding-cranham-woods and its outcome. I havn’t been up that way recently, but according to my neighbour, the landowner is putting out patrols at the weekends to keep people out. Has the land use situation deteriorated? Any current dialogue ongoing? Its too nice a spot to loose.

As far as I know we’re still good to ride in the areas we’ve already agreed, ie. Teachers, The Wall and Racetrack etc. (http://www.bigfootmbc.co.uk/cranham/)

The landowner’s been busy recently putting up some wooden posts to stop people parking in the laybys along the side of the road and there are some ‘no cycling’ signs on the trees at the start of what was The Shrine.

There’s also some conservation work been done on the burial mound as it’s been cleared of trees and informally ‘fenced’ off.

Still plenty of stuff to ride in the area without having to stray into ‘the landowner’s’ patch, although it’s getting a bit claggy up that way now so you probably wouldn’t want to at the moment anyway…
