Last week fitted a new (to me) csu/stanchions and fork internals plus a new rotor and adapter.
All good and feels great until the actual first ride. On HARD braking the fork legs were juddering/fluttering and a cracking sound emenated from somewhere!

Any ideas? Disk is a shimano and shimano brake

Try a little bit of grease on all bolts & spacers perhaps. Dry peaks means my bike is making all sorts of noises…

If you’ve got an old stem and bars laying around, pull the fork off, mount the stem and bars to it, flip the whole lot upside down, stand on the bars and flex the fork legs (no maxle in). If it creaks it’s in the forks, if not it’s elsewhere, most likely headset.
