    eRRRmmmm hell no, not on a weld join. personally I would bin or have a massive plate welded onto it if possible.

    but then I’m no eggspurt neither.

    I was given the frame by a mate and thought worth investigating if it could be fixed. Maybe I’ll just use a couple of zip ties for now!!

    Of course it can be fixed, whether it will ever be as strong or good as before is entirely dependant on how it’s fixed, and whether its cost effective to do it properly is an entirely different matter!

    Not worth the bother in my opinion, a bodge fix might hold for short while under light duty, but I wouldn’t think it’d last long without proper repair with any appropriate pre and post-weld heat treatments for the specific type of Alu used etc.
