  • Cove Handjob head angle question

I’m thinking of getting a Cove Handjob frame in the CRC “sale”.
I’ve been looking at the Cotic Soul (until the old ones sold out), Kinesis Decade, Pipedream Scion etc as other options…

My question is: the head tube angle quoted on the Cove site is 68.5/67 for 100/130 forks respectively which seems a little slack to me considering the Cotic/Kinesis are listed at 70/70.5..

Has anyone got/ridden one, is it a nightmare on steep climbs?

    Ta!

Yes, got one, and no its not, climbs just fine. I’m running 120mm forks. I used to have a Soul, also great.

My Cotic felt a little high from memory with 130mm.

OK, good to know. I doubt I’ll be running my forks any longer than 120mm..

    Thanks for the quick response!

I think Cotic quote their head angle with the fork sagged so a good degree or more steeper than static which Cove quote.

I think the Handjob is slightly slacker, I had one which I regret selling tbh. Currently have a Cotic which is also very nice

I run mine at 130, climbs fine.

Top tube is fair bit shorter on the HJ though. Not something I ever really considered until I sat on a bike that fitted me properly (unlike the HJ I’d been riding for 4 years!).

Great bike though, but I guess I was between sizes so it always felt a bit short.
