I’ve been waiting for a parcel to arrive that was sent as a gift. It was from some relatives in NZ so all I knew was that something was on it’s way. Seems though they ordered it in the UK, rather than ship it from NZ.

Anyway the relative got in touch today worried that I’d not received it. We’ve managed to track it down and found the courier and consignment number. According to their tracking data they’ve been twice and have ‘carded’ us. Hopefully I can go and collect the parcel tomorrow and they’ve not returned to sender.

I’m wondering, who has to prove that a courier has/hasn’t been? Is it on them or me? I’m thinking that under Sale of Goods act the retailer/service provider has the burden of proof, would that apply?

I think the relative would need to deal with retailer if its been returned.
