i know that there are a whole load to choose from,but was thinking of more landscape/riding than downhill racing/big hucks (although i like that too).free to watch if possible.thanks in advance 🙂

It’s not free to watch but Home seems the obvious one. Or I think Vast is available on Itunes now. Home for riding, Vast for landscape.

I would like to know a few more films of that nature too, home and vast didn’t do it for me. The Mark Beaumont round the world, and through the Americas are kind of OK at times as well, but I find him kind of irritating so that kind of ruins the great rides he has done for me.

Life Cycles is awesome if you like slow motion and ponderous voiceovers. The trailer’s the best bit.

Getting p*ssed beforehand / leaving the cinema was the best bit of Life Cycles.

Davey – Agreed. A very underwhelming film. Vast was far better.

Life Cycles is one of those films you either get or you don’t.

In terms of soundtrack and cinematography, I really don’t think there has been a film that has ever come close to the level that Life Cycles acheived.

As for whether or not you get it…….if your average Saturday involves a 40 mile XC ride then it’s not likely to appeal as much.

I agree, the voice over is a bit naff at times, but if you watch every scene, they’ve taken the traditional way of filming those types of shots, binned the existing concept, and then came up with something completely unique.

Despite the fact that some of it is quite boring, I think it has shown other MTB film makers what you can actually do with a bit of artistic flair, rather than just filming epic scenery or huge jumps.

It’s the new bench mark in style, sound and cinematography IMO, although perhaps not in content.

I’m with NorthWind. Can’t think of a more upligting, make you itch to get out on your bike, soulful film than Home.

I liked LifeCycles. A lot in fact. Home is brilliant, it’s in my DVD player just now after watching it last night. I’ll probably put it on again today. I loved Find too (although I would say that!) and some of the scenery is spectacular. I spend a bit of time browsing vimeo, there’s some great stuff on there but ultimately it’s all divided up into 3-6 minute sequences so not the same as relaxing and putting on a DVD.

That Monday video just put a smile on my face.

Just got the blu ray, it’s great.

The Mojo trail diaries, if you’ve not already seen them, are a treat. Danny Macaskill and Rowan Sorrell up Nan Bield doing the old “first one to die loses” especially.
