Watching TdF tonight, more cw up nose. Why? I've see video of Steve Peat doing this, so it can't be total bollox.

the opposite of that footballer fad of the nose strip. heh… cue cotton wool on a roadie near you.

maybe they just have runny noses.. and of course cant take there hands of the bars to wipe !! 🙄

its not just roadies that do it, look on the start line of most elite level bike races, Steve Peat does it,Chris Hoy, as does Adam Craig. If i remember correctly, they dip the cotton wool in olbas oil as well.

It's got some kind of decongestant on, so when it's removed you get that extra strong mints feeling of open nasal passages for the start of your time trial.

Probably has little actual effect, but anything that makes you feel more prepared is thought to be worth it.

Couple of drops of Olbas oil on your tongue does the same thing.
