Building up a Cotic roadrat, plan is most definitely 1×11, just unsure which way to go. The planned use is mainly road, gravel, and trails, (monsal trail etc).

Options are apex1, SRAM NX or slx

Anyone any views

In one of its many incarnations, I ran an Escapade (with flat bars) with an Alfine 48T crankset and Deore / Zee 1×10 11-36 gearing – a bit cheaper than the options above. I’d imagine that any of the options about would be fine.

Get an XT cassette though, the SLX is weighty.

Kelvin, do you ever find yourself spinning out with just a 32t upfront, like wise Ben did you struggle on hills, I’m no racing snake but don’t fancy being overtaken by every one lol
