Just seen the video on the road rat from the cotic site.

    The road rat looks immense!

They do a flat and a curly bar version.

    Best steel single speed around?

I bought a cheap (£270) SE Lager which is a basic steel single speed and I was wondering if the Road rat would be better? The brakes would be a vast improvement on the Lager as they are only cantis and the road rat has discs.

I wonder if the road rat could keep up with a ‘proper’ road bike?

me! seriously there have been loads of threads on the roadrat – some people love them, some people don’t. I use mine for commuting with 2 heavy (ish) panniers and it does the job. Have also ridden it on easy bridleways which was fun.

i was looking at one last year but went for a surly crosscheck cantis only but that doesnt bother me as they are fine once set up. It takes guards and rear rack and can be run ss. I use it for cx winter road rides and a bit of touring i luvs it 🙂
