My xtr crank set is in need of TLC, the middle and inner rings need replacing, the arms are scuffed bot otherwise ok. The xtr crankset is about 3-4 yrs old. Do i replace the rings, or am better getting a brand new xt crankset?

do the new xt cranks compare well in terms of stiffness to an older xtr crank??

New XT Crankset. You will still have rings to renew in the future and they will be lots cheaper.
    XTR rings are silly money.

You’ll also be able to sell the XTR cranks on if you buy a new XT chainset.

If its m970 xt m770 middle ring fits perfectly. You have to space the granny which is easy or you could just get a xtr m970 granny as its not that much more than xt.

Yep mine’s M970 and use whatever chainrings I can get – with spacers on the granny.
