Keen, I’m one of their testers and the sandals are very good. I’ve got a batch of new stuff turning up tomorrow.

Teva Terra-fi for me every summer.
Which ever you get, when they start to stink, wash em and soak em in white vinegar.

+1 for Keen Newort, but they also do a flipflop style design, albeit rather expensive.

    Superb fit – very comfortable.

I agree with Kuco’s brother. I swear by those Merrells too. I’ve had a pair exactly like that for 3 years now. I wear them all summer long – long walks, in the sea, the lot. Superb. Supremely comfortable and hard wearing. Most important of all, Mrs T thinks they look nice too. The only thing I wouldn’t do with them is ride a bike……….

I’ve had a pair of reef’s for 15 years, seems OK to me.

and they now do a pair with a built in bottle opener.

I have a couple of pairs of Oakley sandals, last well and are very comfortable. Dont know if they still do the Smoke one comes in slip on and the other has a heel strap.

Hairychested, I hope ton likes his as much as I like mine 🙂

BTW Keen sandals have nice toe protection.

Merrell Chameleons are great – last ages, my last pair lasted about 6 summers. Done some quite serious walks in them without problems. I’ve not got a pair of Teva Toachis as I wanted some which were a bit more water friendly- the first pair I took back because some of the stitching came undone, but the second pair have been great. Bit of a stiffer sole than the Merrells but really comfortable.

Don’t write off the Birkis. The ones with a further strap at the rear (I think they’re the Milan model) don’t slip off if they’re adjusted properly. They’re very comfortable and are certainly what Jesus would wear.

The Keens were the only sandals I could find with toe and heel protection. Kind of useful if you go mountain biking in them.

I’m going to need another pair soon, so what’s out there?

My Merrells have been ace and had them a few years. They were designed to get wet and don’t rot or fall apart after lots of wandering about in streams, rivers, the sea, etc

Birkenstocks didn’t stay on me at first, but they wore in and were fine.

However don’t ride your bike on SPDs with them, it breaks the cork. And don’t walk a long way in them either.

    My fave are these:

    Chaco Unaweep

Look a bit weird if you have ugly feet but that is a full on Vibram sole unit so they are about 10000000 times better than any other sandals for walking around in for both support and protection on uneven terrain. Also available in wide fittings.

I’ve been after a pair of the gladiator sandles posted ^ since i saw them in harrods… The only reason i’ve not got them is they’d give me an even weirder tan than my usual cycling one – this is what happened last year, class!

I’d go fro tevas every time but if you buy some lok around for a good ppricve.I paid £ 80 for a pair and then saw them in winfileds for £ 30 a week later.

trout- Quite a lot of keen stuff is only available stateside, if you select your country in the box on the website, all of what you see is available. They are increasing the euro stock all the time due to demand. Drop them a mail or you could buy in the states, quite a few stores ship to the UK. hth

I always find that, no matter how nice the sandals are, and no matter what material they are made from, they make my feet smell very, very badly. 😕

I thought I’d lost my Teva’s, couldn’t find them anywhere.
Then my Mum brought them up recently, she’d found them in my old room! Just in time for my holiday next week. 🙂

    Agree with toys19 ^^, they’re so comfy!
