i need to do a small mod to a customers kitchen. he’s got an island unit with a U shaped cutout where a cooker went that he wants cutting down. i think made of corian on an mdf core. its just a temporary fix, as he’s having a total kitchen refit in a year or so. question is, can i use normal cutters on corian, or do i need a special one. i’ve got numerous decent trend ones, some brand new and some cheaper ones. cheers in advance.

A good TCT router bit should do the job fine, something single flute if its a pretty heavy duty cut – the only consideration is you want the bit to be good and sharp and the router itself wants to be reasonably powerful – 2000w if you are making deep cuts. So work with one of your newer bits or get busy with the sharpner.

Theres a manual for Corrian here
