    Been dun yet?

This aluminium-framed Raleigh Criterium, like my own trusty red Raleigh, is light and therefore fast, but comfortable for longer rides too – I recently rode mine with Olympic gold medallist Sir Bradley Wiggins (shameless namedrop) and it ensured I kept up with him.

Jeremy Corbyn reveals his dream bike. It’s red!

Leader of the Opposition Jeremy Corbyn says his dream bike is a red Raleigh Criterium – and has found himself the subject of a sly dig in the right wing press over its £475 price tag.

^ Smells more desperate than usual. £475???

Cheapest bike available road range according to their website:

So sly is the new stupid…

*Edit – Sure they can make a quick u-turn and dig at him for not spending enough. Dirty pool old boys, dirty pool.

What a tight person with his ministerial position he is only spending £475?

You lot easily spend 10 times more than that and you lot are just beggars!

Something is not right … 😯

Or that is a reflection of a person trying to hide something about the way he spend his money …

I post some crap, but do you just mash the keyboard with the palm of your hand and then add a 😯 ?

That’s the thing chewkw, politicians are considered by default to be so corrupt and dishonest that the commentary that pursues (and pre-empts) them is at least as corrupt and dishonest.

Just noticed that the next model up the range next to the Criterium is the Raleigh ‘Propaganda’. 😆

I used to covet the Carlton Criterium as a kid, remember that frosted green one? I ended up with a Cyclone frame for a tenner, and a custom build. Bitter socialist/capitalist/anarchist/apolitical frankenfreak that I am.

He’s making a statement that he does not lust for mere material wealth, such trappings of the bourgeoisie. All comrades shall be happy with this excellent velocipede. Give his political position, this is understandable, but does rather show a lack of ambition.
The press are being asshats trying to say that a ‘socialist’ shouldn’t want anything material at all. Especially if it cost £450! OMFG! HOW MUCH? Etc.

Whole thing is just awful media mismanagement on all sides.

    Made in China?

So much for supporting British manufacturing, opposing globalisation and standing against oppressive state human rights abuses.

    oppressive Hunan rights abuses.

Nothing sure about the human rights element, but Hunan food is ace.

Malvern Rider, I used to have the Carlton Criterium in frosted green, cost me £20 from a mate in 1983 and sold it for £10 in the early ’90s. Kicking myself pretty hard now, what with things like Eroica going on. On the subject of Jezza, there is now a Crowdfunding appeal to buy him the bike and it’s raised over £5K in its first two days.Raleigh round Jezza
