Thinking of putting some pieces of copter tape on my car roof where the rack feet would sit for my roof mounted bike rack.

I have used pieces of fabric etc before now but thought this might be a bit better.

Trying to stop the black rubber marks that the feet leave, or would it just damage the paint when I peel it off in years to come?

I have done this before and it worked well. The only issue was that the tape yellowed over time.

wish I had done this. No lacquer where the rubber feet were now – oops!

If it yellows replace it.
