Like robbo1234 MrsT spent 6wks pre Tjnr arriving 34yrs ago when there were no “supermarkets” in our wee toon. I worked shifts at the time and my hobby was looking after a few rally cars. Arriving at the maternity hospital in a Mk2 Escort all Webbered up and clunking limited slip diff didn’t go down too well on occasions 😉
As for looking after myself it’s something I had to do from a young age, learning to cook from Mum and both Grans 😀

Try the BBC good food app/web site.

My treat when on my own is venison, MrsT isn’t so keen on it.

Doing a curry tomorrow is an option but it is a lot of faffing for one person.

Curry for one, naan bread and Cobra is a tradition in my house. (A little assistance from Loyd Grossman is all I need).
    Don’t skip the curry!

MrOvershoot – I wish your wife all the best and hope recovery from the op. is on track.

I was in hospital last week for four nights. Hubby came home each evening to parcels of delicious food on our doorstep. Our wonderful friends and neighbours all rallied round.
Oh and I don’t care who knows it but it works best for us the old fashioned (me tied to the kitchen sink and garden duties) way. He does garage (bike related stuff mostly) duties.

Yes, yes all very well but what accelerant did you use for BBQ lighting?

Can you video the next flammation?* 😀

    *not sure thats a word

what accelerant did you use for BBQ lighting? – 1/2 a pint of white spirit and a blow torch. It smelt a bit ‘painty’ because the Hogaarden glass I normally used had been left on the side from the previous BBQ so I grabbed the nearest receptical.

She is coming home tomorrow. Yay!

She said I needed more salad and stuff so I treated myself to a take away

Downstairs is now cleaned. All rubbish in the bin, all surfaces wiped, all floors hoovered. Washing in the machine and dishes in the dishwasher.

Tomorrow I will do the same upstairs and wash and replace the bedding before picking her up at 10:45am

    Easy*

*Much better when she is here though!

Well that was a flipping waste of time 🙁

1 hour before her operation time yesterday she phoned me in a bit of a state to say it had been posponed as part of the equipment needed for the Op had gone missing (turns out its a micro drive thingy that costs about £30,000!).

Now postponed till the 20th August, so she will have to build herself up for the Op again and endure 3 more weeks of horrible tremors 🙁

Got her back home last night, she was exhausted to the point where she could no longer hold her head up, still she slept through the night in her own bed.

Oh and as for me I didn’t have much more than 10 minutes to myself as by the time I was back from the hospital & had eaten I was ready for bed.

    WCA how’s your wife doing?

I would think Mrs WCA has nothing to fear. Can you image the horrific injuries WCA would suffer were he to try and engage in sex?

Wife not great but okay. Still in a lot more pain that expected but physio tomorrow morning and hydropool in the afternoon should ensure she remains in pain over the weekend…

Oh yes anything involving a physio seems to hurt, they always say its doing you good with a worrying smile!

I used to have a friend called “Dave the Physio” but after he ‘worked’ on my ankle I have someone I ride with called “Dave the Bastard”

    🙂
