So can anyone recommend someone for repairing a cooker, one oven has given up completely and the fan on the other stopped working some time ago . I’m under strict instructions that given something called Christmas is not far off I’m not to attempt to diagnose and repair this myself!

    Thanks

    EDIT – sorry wrong forum!

British gas do a fixed price repair on cookers I believe and have most parts next day

pull the fuse and do it yourself.
There are enough guides on you tube.
I have worked for British Gas you may as well just get a new cooker it will be cheaper

Yes pretty sure it is the element, took out the mcb and rcd when it went. I’ll look on line for a guide, it’s not me whose averse to the DIY route it’s a higher authority.
