    From 9 speed.

Chain and cassette are worn and I fancy a clutch mech. I’ve already got a 10 speed rear shifter in the spares box.

    Guessing I will need : –

    Chain
    Cassette
    Clutch mech

Will I get away with using the 9 speed chainrings ?
Which Shimano rear clutch mech is recommended ?
How do I know if I’m on a medium or long cage rear mech ?

    Thanks

Up to you which mech, they are all quite cheap.

Theory to me is triple = Long, Double = medium , single without extender= short. Extender can use short or medium cages.

Will the chain length be the same ?

    Thanks

Assuming the largest cog on the cassette is the same – yes.
