I’ve just aquired a new (to me) set of wheels and the rims are drilled for presta tubes only, thing is i have about 8 un-used schrader tubes that i don’t want to replace, is it safe to drill the rims out to fit the larger valves? And if it is anyone know what size drill bit one would require?

    Many thanks 🙂

A good size round file will do it , can remember off hand but think its an 8 mm bit

Yes, done it plenty of times and not died. However, needs to be a fairly cheap rim to cost less than a hand full of tubes.
