So after using my dslr at the weekend to film a bit of footage I find out the .MOV files it creates don’t work with windows movie maker 😕
Can anybody recommend a bit of (preferably free) software to convert the files to something more movie maker friendly?

    Thanks in advance 😀

“Super” file converter worked for me. Download it from SourceForge. Free software but new versions do seem to surrounded by spamware & toolbars so be careful what you’re agreeing too.

Cheers. I think I’ll try the GoPro software as I’m hoping santa’s going to bring me one for xmas so it would handy to have a play with their movie maker.

To convert from mov, try Handbrake works great for most videos.

As for Movie Maker ditch it and invest in something better.

Use Handbrake and don’t use movie maker, or if you do, stay away from those awfull transition effects. 😉

Windows live movie maker works with the .mov files that come from my Contour. Are you still on an old version?
