Just doing some research into the tyres on my Whyte (XC racing on Sunday for the 1st time in years-please excuse my geekness )

It’s got 2.1 speed kings on which i keep pintch flatting, when i googled them and looked at the Conti site there recomended to run 50psi!!!

Anyone actually run them that firm? What pressures do peole run in them?

35-40 psi (170lbs) on the rear – never ran em up front.

all contis seem to be rated at that. I run mine (speed kings and gravities) at 35 – 50 psi. I do find they need higher pressures than some tyres or else they squirm

Yeah – as above really. You do ping off rocks a bit but the traction still seems ok and the rolling resistance is great 🙂

Rode the Builth merida with them at around 35psi seemed to grip well but did need to mince the rocky sections and the road bit sucked.

Will pop a bit more in and go from there!

What are they like up front, one on the back was a great little tyre.

Nice – but they seem to wear very quickly.

They do squirm at low pressures, firmness is a neccessity I find.

Would you recommend similar pressures for the Mountain King 2.2s? I’m about to put mine on for the Dyfi.

I ran mine at 40 psi last summer, im a big lad and not very subtle…in 4 months the rear was a slick but the front was fine.
