Firstly, before anyone tells me to buy from my LBS, this isn’t bike related. Wife is wanting to buy some stuff abroad, not available in the UK so not much choice. It’s a bit pricey so I’m worried about protection if stuff goes wrong.

If I’m buying from another EU country, what protection do I get. Does the law of the country the purchaser is in apply, or that of the seller? If I buy on credit card do I get the same protection on the purchase as I would if using the CC to buy within the UK?

If it isn’t bike related why have you posted it in the ‘bike forum’?

    Because I didn’t pay attention.

Laws of the sellers country apply. If EU then very unlikely to be a problem any more than a uk company, just do your due diligence on the company. Distance selling regs apply.
Obviously you may have certain rights but if they don’t play ball it’s not as easy to sort it out if you have language barriers etc and you can’t just nip in the car and sort it face to face.
