    My neighbours has a large conifer in his garden and has cut off the top 2-2.5 m and claims it will now stop growing,is this correct?

    No. Chances are it’ll be back to height in 2 seasons. But the extra won’t be thick trunks, just whippy growth

    Much easier to trim in future for him though.
