I picked up a Hayes 9 disc brake and intend to run it with a 160mm rotor.

The disc is post mount and my fork is IS. What adapter do I need??

I had a look on CRC, but there are way too many to choose from.

Apologies, but dont really want to order the wrong one and not sure how to find out?

    Any help appreciated.

You need one of these from Clee Cycles.

I tried putting a Hayes 9 onto what I believe is a 160 shimano adapter (similar shape to the one linked to above), and the calipre body hit the adapter making it impossible to fit. Just something might want to bear in mind if you come across the same issue

    Thanks gents

z1ppy, which adapter did you use in the end?

To be honest I dont fancy spending £22 on one when there seem to be others around £8

There’s usually a few in the classifieds for £3-£4

I ended up using a bigger disc, as I had adapters & disc to hand, so no help to you unfortunately. Try superstar components, the adapters are cheap (£5) & can’t go wrong (unlike the BB’s) or 2nd hand as per Nick. I know you can use Hayes 9’s with 160mm disc’s, but maybe not all adapters works… Mine was a shimano one.
