  • Conditions in NE Scotland?

Off soon for a week in NE Scotland and was wondering how conditions were. Last year we couldn’t ride Laggan and Balblair because of storm damage ( Golspie was great though!) and mainly rode natural stuff. So this year will floods and/or storm damage make things difficult?
We were thinking this year of doing the Moray trails but they are a 40 mile drive at least from where we are staying so are they worth the drive?

Lower red at Laggan is still closed and there’s forestry work now commencing on the Green. Upper Red and Black are clear.

In general, there are still lots of trees down on various tracks and lots of water around. It’s all slowly getting back to normal though I suspect it’ll be a while before all the trees are cleared.

We’ve had a bit of snow too. Currently down to the main car parks on Cairngorm and more expected over the next couple of days.

Moray escaped most of the rain which drowned the rest of the north east, but we’ve still had a fair bit. Monster trails in good condition last time i was up, can’t say whether you’d consider them to be worth the journey though………
