A few of us were mean’t to be going to Brechfa this weekend.

However, with the ongoing traffic chaos, we have decided to cancel.

Looking at riding Swinley instead on sat.

Is it likely to be 6ft under water, given the current thaw?

    Cheers

I reckon it could be quite heavy going in places probably many places 🙂

Went yesterday and it was fine, there were some quite muddy patches but a lot of hardpacked snow, had a fresh snow last night so should be good…

That actually sounds better than I thought it would be

Out last Sunday morning and was better than I expected. Generally try except for heavily trafficed routes.

Given it’s raining around here at the moment, unless it snows more or freezes, I’d expect going to be very muddy in places. Given how rooty some of the trails are, in snow it could be “interesting”.

    Cheers.

Be nice to salvage something from the planned weekend away.

I shall expect the worst then, given that its currently raining.

Not sure what’ll be worse mud n roots or snow n roots?

Depends where you go – the hardpack (built) trails are, well, still hardpack. The more adhoc trails that aren’t built are muddy as you like; best bet is to avoid them or wait until they freeze. 🙂
