Thinking about spending some decent money on a family tent after several £100 – £200 tents that have all been a bit poorly made.

I’m prepared to travel to a shop that has a big range but also has them all pitched to have a good nosey around.

    Any recommendations?

Go outdoors usually have a few up. I just bought a replacement for our Vango Diablo 600, a Vango Maritsa 600. We saw it pitched go outdoors last year and that’s ht ade us buy it. Check with the manufacturer to see if they have any display days.

Yep – Go Outdoors. It’s also worth stalking a few popular campsites 🙂

Look at the wild country family tents, homestead etc. We have one (bought secondhand) specially picked after many years of being nosey on campsites…

It has withstood serious winds that decimated half a campsite whilst barely moving at all.

I like the Kyham Ridgidome tents.

Goes up faster (much faster) than a dome tent, has the space of a traditional frame tent. And no arguments about which poles go where 🙂

Second Wild Country – good strong tents

This is worth a look at:

But depends what you want in terms of space

I started a thread on family tents a couple of weeks ago,

I reckon I’ll be going for the Outwell Montanna 6 (not the P version though)

Not seen it up though but happy enough to go on reviews

This place is good to buy from at cheap prices (lots of ex-demo or factory second tents).

Online only though I’m afraid, but there are LOTS of good tent reviews here: http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/
