Nice picture. I also pass a castle on my commute but it is little more than a crumbling wall these days.

Bit of a grim commuting week for me so far. Wet and muddy on many parts, farm lanes in a bit of a mess and drivetrain regularly coverered in cack.

Also with the vegetation dying back the full extent of the littering and fly-tipping that is taking place these days is shamefully evident.

Nice pic, any tips for using compacts? ive got a IXUS70 and sometimes struggle to get a good light level (its either too washed out or grainy, especially at dusk)

(im doing this 365 thing too, need to sort out the begining of Jan as i was on holiday and havnt got all the pics yet http://www.flickr.com/photos/dickyelsdon/sets/72157612936627853/)

i used a 10sec shutter (no flash) as castle was about 3/4 mile away and only light was from the castle for that, apart from the tennis courts! but you’ve got to keep the cam rock steady (i used a bridge rail), a good tip is to use the timer option so you don’t move the cam when pressing the button

oh, cam was also on ‘infinity’ setting so it wouldn’t auto focus in the foreground
