    I was doing a job for an 80 year old woman and heard her literally weeping with laughter. She showed me this estimate she had received from a painter: “2 coats blah, blah, 1 coat blah…so many ££££s..I will cum in 2 weeks to start”. He did actually get the job. 😀

    OK just caught up on this thread and my blood pressure is through the roof…

    My personal peeve is the use of the noun medal as a verb. You don’t medal in the Olympics, you win a medal. Similarly you don’t podium.

    … and I accept that language evolves and if enough people use it then it will no doubt become accepted, but that doesn’t make it right.
