Excellent band, would agree with @bikebouy on first vs subsequent albums. Any announcement will be good for tour ticket sales.

OK, most of Coldplays output is bland, middle of the road, and I won’t shed a tear if they cease to be, but I’d rather be subjected to their whinnying than 95% of the offensive garbage I hear on Radio 1.

Oh, and when they do split, don’t expect them all to gracefully retire in to the background – the planet might have to endure 4 x ex-coldplay solo projects! Think of the kiddies 😐

Really liked them at first but didn’t bother after the first couple of albums. Got a free ticket to their concert a few years back and am back on the bandwagon. They have some great songs tucked away on the albums.

Saying that, if they do split it won’t really be the end of the world.

Thankfully I never listen to R1 or 2, so I don’t have to put up with Coldplay being played.
I do like Elbow though, at least Guy can sing in something other than a bloody falsetto all the damned time, and write more than one choon.
