Good evening

I have been advised to add no more than 6 turns of spring preload to my CCDB, does anyone have a guide or know when the 1st turn is counted. Is it as soon as the collar touches the spring, or is it when there is a little tension on the spring. I’m sure its not an exact science but at the same time i don’t want to damage my shock by coil binding on big hits.

Just fitted one a few hours ago. From what I can gather you start counting the turns as soon as the spring is in contact with the collar

3 turns from seating pressure on an unladen bike.
Never heard anyone say as many as 6 turns.
