My current grinder went up in smoke this week, so looking for a new/used one if anyone can recommend – wanting fine grind for Gaggia machine. Also a Tamper for Gaggia machine. Thanks!

Isomac Granmacinino as the cheap option, some variant of the Mazzer Superjolly as the less cheap. The Isomac doesn’t have stepless adjustment, which is a bit of a pain if you want an accurate grind, otherwise its pretty damn good for the cash. The Mazzer is the default commercial grinder. You’ll have seen them in the coffee bars.

I have an SJ I picked up off ebay for £100, new burrs for £20 and its done good service for the last 4 years, I’m expecting it to last the next 40 too.

the ascaso mini grinders look good. especially if you lack the space for a mazzer about 140-160 in black, alloy and a stainless version
