We are planning a three day coast to coast oop north. Has anyone got any route suggestions and B&B's to stay in along the way.?

Way of the Roses...
Not Lakes as It is a bit South of them but does do Pennines and Dales
Morecombe to Bridlington,
Doing it this means you get the hills more or less out of the way in the first half of the trip
170 miles and you could quite easily break it into either 2 or 3 days with a large choice of stopoversPosted 4 months ago # -
+1 for Way of the Roses. A lovely route on almost exclusively traffic-free roads. We did it over 3 days, staying in Malham and York (Youth Hostels). It's possible in 2 days, but we found 3 days suited the route better, allowing time for a few beers each evening. Plus there are some decent hills in the first half of the route. Most of us were on hardtails and carried a small rucksack. Plenty room for 3 days kit.

I'm told there's a coast to coast challenge ride being planned for the summer - Seascale to Robin Hoods Bay.
If it were me, I'd start Seascale or Ravenglass and go over Hardknott and Wrynose to Ambleside, the through Kendal way, to Kirkby Stephen. Over the top and down Swaledale........but after that it's too far East for me and my nose starts bleeding.

What Boxelder says. You could do a road version following fairly closely the offroad (Tim Woodcock) route which would be a nice route. Of course it's not the easiest route, but there again if you want easy just drive the car!
Perhaps cross the Lakes Via Hardnott, Ambleside, Kendal, Tebay then Dales by Kirkby Stephen, Keld, Swaledale, Richmond, Thirsk then NYM via somewhere south of Pickering (ask someone who lives there not me!!) to Scarborough.
Two good days on a proper road bike, AARoutefinder says 170 miles
