Brandon Sloan offa specialized says so…so it must be true.
“In the US market, our hardtails and the Epic are pretty much 90 percent 29er now, and pretty soon it’ll be 100 percent.”

    It’s true.

Hybrid sales outstripped MTBs in the UK some time ago….

‘D’you want a rack and mudguards with that sir?’

    honest question:

has anyone made a 29er that’s good for hooligan-riding yet?

or are they still designed for riding on forest-roads?

(when are we going to see 29ers being raced in world cup 4X and Dh?)

i’m 6’2″ – all my bikes look like gates, i’d love a bike that looked in proportion.

So proper sized wheels have made a comeback?

What happened, did they run out of midgets for the 26ers?

It’s taken a while but people are eventualy trying stuff out for themselves instead of relying on a few outdated quotes from people who’ve never riden one. 😆

America, the land of the niche.

It’s because all American meat is full of growth hormones, leading to elongation of people, so they need stupid clown bikes. Overpopulation and dwindling resources will see the lumbering over-consuming giants die out, with the little nibblers flourishing. It’s evolution.

Small is the future. Tiny bikes rock.

I don’t think 29er would suite 4x smaller wheels are always nicer jumping, that’s why dirt jumping is best on a BMX or if you must 24″. 29er would be fine for anything else though given the correct geometry frame was made. I don’t think the larger wheel would be a negative issue anywhere else except but it would allow for better roll over, but it’s never going to be as good for a jump / 4x bike

America, the land of the niche.

90% is not a niche number.

The 10% that buy 26er are the niche ones. 😉

I’m a bit confused – why does one have to be better? Or do folk just enjoy pointless arguments. FYI I have one of each. And a tandem. So what would I know. Didn’t realise everyone in USA rode a Spesh HT or Epic.
hooligan riding Is this a new pigeon hole?

I love my 29er and it’s pretty much all I ride these days. But, pointed down a fast technical trail, I’d still choose my Blur LTc any day & twice on sundays.
