is there a stockist that keeps in the backplate to go inside an SPD shoe and that can post them to me in time to arrive on wednesday ( I go to the Alps then). I have just tried replacing my (eggbeater) cleats and had to drill them out. The backplates that are made from old baked bean tins are knacked. The shoes are Northwave but I think the plates are all very similar on all shoes,

better still, your LBS will have them, and you could go and collect them in your own sweet time!
they are a bit expensive but you also get some free cleats…

do they come as standard with Shimano cleats?

Yes, all the recent ones we've ordered have come with them.
