Im having problems with my shimano xt trail pedals..

Had some worn cleats that had a fair bit of play in them so replaced a few weeks back

However im still getting a lot of lift movement from the pedal/cleat interface…ie when im sat climbing i can feel the shoe sort of lifting slightly on the upstroke like somethings loose?

But its not loose nothing is loose?

Ive tried tightening up the release mech screws on the pedals but to no avail…the shoes have nothing broke/loose where the cleat fits?

Im a bit stumped, it just feels like somethings lifting when i pedal like its all not fitted properly?

Fwiw shimano latest trail pedals, shimano sh 51 cleats and northwave arctic gtx boots

    Any ideas?

    Longshots:
You haven’t somehow got an extra washer under the cleats ?
Is the shoe sole very worn ?

Hmm dont think so it was doing it before i changed the cleats i assumed it was worn cleats put new ones in and just the same

Cant think of anything extra washer wise really just the new ones as they came

Shoes are a good 3 or 4 years old only used nov – march dont look excessively worn

    Cheers for input
