Classifieds posts are ordered by topic time, rather than last post time like on the other forums. This is to stop the 'bump' issue and new posts disappearing off the page so quickly.

Excellent.

was confused for a moment - but undoubtedly the right way to go

I think a rule about reposting the same item 15 times a day may be required in tandem with this change to sortation.

Hooorah!!

I miss the choice - can't we have a button somewhere to toggle between the 2 views?

all in time.Posted 3 years ago # -
i prefer it this way. just out of interest is there a way to get search results displayed in chronological order? just done a search for something and the results were all mixed up
Posted 3 years ago # -
Poo i prefer old way. Toggle between the two good tho

I think its its confusing because you have freshness as the time column, but your sorting by the time the topic was posted, a column that is not displayed. How about showing the topic posted time instead of / as well as freshness, although I do like the old freshness option!
How about allowing sortation to be user specified, by either clicking on the column header or by adding an additional drop down somewhere (for example where it says "Classifieds are sorted by " <DropDown>).

I guess you can never win Tom, but thanks for sorting it out thus far.
Cheers.Posted 3 years ago # -
On balance I do prefer it this way. Be nice if we can go back to a choice though. Wasn't windging really
Keep up the great work - this place is getting better and better. I reckon the Christmas events have only acted to strengthen it.

OffersAny FS ad should have a price, with or without postage, which is a starting point for offers.
I see we even have a couple of "whats it worths" in the classifieds.

Another vote for what wwaswas said, some folk taking the piss a bit today.
Posted 3 years ago # -
And folk posting 8 different items separately?

I miss the choice - can't we have a button somewhere to toggle between the 2 views? []
I Agree FBK dudePosted 3 years ago # -
I agree with FBK - a toggle between "Freshness" and "post-time" would be heaven!!

Tom already stated that the choice will happen, but not just yet. It's on the list and we are working towards it.
As for multiple ad postings by a user.. If you list all your items individually they are likely to be deleted. Don't hog the board. No reposting an ad for 24 hours please.
I'll flesh those two guidelines out a little better and add them to the rules in the next day or two.

not sure if i like it...if you take a while to reply then the topic still stays lost pages down and may not be seen again so the other button to allow last post will be of benifit
have we lost the "search by author etc" function as well???
Posted 3 years ago # -
can we have the email notification back please
It's a pain having to check the site for responses espesh if you're at work
