  • Claiming for lost international parcel with Royal Mail?

Ok, I sold a couple of retro racing shirts on Ebay and the winner was from Slovenia… Surprise surprise when the parcel never gets to its destination and the guy claims the money back through ebay as never receiving his item. The statutory 20 days have passed for me to lodge a claim with the RM, the big problem is they are asking for a receipt for me buying the shirts, not the price he paid (i.e. a receipt for sold) I have an ebay receipt for one, but not for the other as I’d owned it for longer than I can remember. I have supporting evidence for ownership such as pictures of me wearing the stuff, just no receipt. Has anyone successfully claimed for a lost item without the original receipt? I’ve got a feeling they are going to try and screw me over big time, the items are within the insurance limits, its more the proof of ownership that I’m worried about.
    Any ideas?
