just replace the pulley and its bearing or is it a new alternator I need.

I've tried googling the fault but come up with nowt. Any Peugeot/Citreon mechanics out there? It's an 02 2litre Hdi.

I'd say a full alternator would be your best bet, I'm not sure if you can replace the pulley as it's gotta be pretty firmly attached to the shaft through the windings. Just go down to your local factor and get a reconditioned unit.

depends on the mounting of the pulley and if it's damaged the shaft or not. have a look on yell or something for local starter/alternator places.

Got it off and it looks toasted. The pulley has a fancy bearing. £150 for a new alternator, not the end of the world. Thanks
