Now, I don’t think they did. Not a City fan, but I think they held their own, probably more so when reducded to 10 men.
But still lost 2-0 in the first leg at home. Holding your own only counts when you don’t concede, which has to be the holy grail of progression at the sharp end of the European cup.
You are right about Barca, but then I recall a lot of the really decent European sides you could say that about. Retain possession, don’t concede and make the most of whatever comes your way. That’s the lesson for City from tonight. They looked dangerous coming forward until the red and battled manfully until the second. Won’t win them the tie though.
