Exploring new possibilities of trails (newish to Ciren) to get me to Birdlip and back. There are a lot of bridleways but most seem to pass through the Bathurst estate/Ciren Park. If you're local, can you recommend a decent offroadish route to Sheepscombe? From there I can pick up the spooky woods with the totem pole in them.

Have a look at multimap and choose the OS map view…

There are a few routes, but you could try heading out of Ciren on the old Gloucester road and turn off to Daglinworth.

Carry on to Duntisbourne Rouse then take the MacMillan way on the left. When you hit the road go left (towards Sapperton) then turn right to Pinbury Park. Down, along and up the otherside through Hen Wood.

Turn right on the road past Edgeworth. When you get to Lypiatt turn left and drop down to Honeycombe farm and up to The Camp.

At the crossroads you can turn right and end up on at the Fostons Ash, or go straight over and you'll be above the woods at Sheepscombe (left then a few hundred yards and there's the entrance to the woods, or right and a few hundred yards for the road into Sheepscombe).
