I'm staying for a week in Sarn so it looks like the best for a ride will be something on Long Mynd
How weather proof are the trails. When this lot melts will they turn to bogs
Also how technical is it, I may be able to persuade my kids to join me. Particularly looking at the short route from Single track 37 or the current What Mountain bike (The minton batch descent)
They can turn into running streams but will stay firm, not tech but big enough hills and a few do have drops / steep slopes to the side so if you come a cropper you might not stop for a while.
my kids are reasonably competent, but they would hate the Mynd...too uppy/downy -me loves it tho

So perhaps we'll do a trail centre for a ride with them and I'll do Long Mynd on my own.

I don't know if there's signed routes as such, but there's some good purpose built trails at Eastridge, just down the road from the Mynge. Much less hilly and less exposure (the Long Mynd can be **** cold in the winter).
I'm doing the Long Mynd with a few others on the 30th if you want to join us, planning on doing Minton Batch, Polebrook Cottage and Hope Bowdler.
Might be tough for the kids as the first climb to get to the top is very hard work as is the climb up Hope Bowdler, mind you the down's are worth the pain.
