Si, how is it that you go on and on about Chumbas I have no interest in and as soon as there's one I might actually fancy, not a peep?

rj, That is the new EVO and is not actually out yet.

I have around 20-30 anodised red frames available in a mix of small, medium, large and x large if anyone wants one before the general release date in Jan/Feb?

Nice. I do like Chumba's I must admit.

A smidgen under 6" travel. 68 HA with Fox 140 and 13.5 bb height, 67 degree HA with Fox 36 13.75" bb. Adjustable sliding drop outs to lengthen or shorten whheelbase.

Medium frame will have a 23" top tube, though this is to be confirmed for sure.

Zero stack tapered head tube will accept adjuster cups to alter HA by up to 3 degrees. There will be two front shock mounts, one optimised for coil the other air. Both will alter geo too, numbers to be confirmed.

Not sure on weight, chumba expect a weight of around 6.5lb

I like the look of that.

I think that will look great. I always felt that VF2'ish look would look nice with slightly burlier builds. Surprised only 6" rear travel though.

I think 6" is around the sweet spot for this type of bike. The lower link is one piece so should be nice and stiff.

I am looking at a UK price of around £1450 and will also be dropping the vf2 to that price point. The new Evo at that price should represent good value against similar frames like knolly and intense with similar features.

Si – when do the frames turn up?

Late Jan early Feb, though I can get hold of a few anodized red for delivery early October. Those are strictly to order though as stock is very limited so I won't have any stock.

Is that to replace the XCL?

    si-wilson

No, the XCL will continue, Chumba still like the 4 bar bikes, We plan to make them the more affordable full sussers in the chumba line up.

Are Chumba dropping the horst link?

Are Chumba dropping the horst link?

No, the XCL and VF2 will continue to be horst link and in production. Similar to what Santa Cruz have done with VPP/Single pivot 🙂

The Horst bikes will be dropping in prices very soon. £1100 for the VF2 and £925 for the XCL, bargains 🙂

Will there be a 140mm, non-horst link frame in the new range?

    si-wilson

The EVO will just be shy of 6″ so with it being so close to 5″ and pretty light for what it is there are no plans for a different 5″ frame.

I am working on a deal where the first 20 pre orders get a free upgrade to an Elka coil shock.

Closer shot of the adjustable drop outs.

I can also now confirm the price of £1450 will include an RP23, or for a bargain £50 upgrade you can have an Elka Stage 5 coil shock.
