This is Cornwall – there is no access to the "right" stuff!

Good Indians and Thais aplenty, good Chinese very lacking.

I would rather have an average Chinese than an average Indian. But I would take a good Indian over the best Chinese anytime.

    Indian over Chinese. Everytime.
Indian food is as good veggi as it is with meat. Quite a trick to pull off.

Back in the late 1980's I travelled through China; the worst food I've ever seen and eaten; so little variety too. One meal turned out to be deep fried fat.
I'm sure it's different today, but regardless, Indian wins out every time.

My experience of eating in China is that it varies a lot in different areas – well it is a large place…. Never found anything like what we get in takeaways here though.

When I lived in That London I used to buy msg in bags at the chinese supermarket, if you dip your finger in it tastes like electric sherbet

No, no, no! There are umpteen poor/average curry houses around these days. Cheap quality meat/poultry, tough/overcooked lamb, overcooked prawns, dishes that taste the same no matter the name, etc.

There's only one curry house I'd "trust" in the vicinity, but you can expect to pay IRO £30-£40/head for 3 courses. The rest are all a much of a muchness – very disappointing.

And the best Chinese in the area had gone under – ar5e! They were pricey but bloody good.

I have been a lifelong lover of Chinese food, but recently I have been so dissappointed everytime with it, that I think my Pallette must be changing so its a Ruby for me everytime now ! Mrs Jengin is well happy as Indian is her fave anyway

Whenever we have family or friends for a takeaway I always get a couple of jalfrezis to go with the chow meins, it's a bit more hassle but the combination is perfect.

I love a good indian, but it always makes me feel bloated for hours afterwards.

chinese if i'm not wanting something spicy and light, Indian when I'm craving spicyness, Thai when I want something between the two.
